New Administrative Policy with Respect to Licences

The Trade-marks Office will now record license agreements and documents terminating license agreements. Paragraph 26(2)(c) of the Trade-marks Act provides that the register shall show, with reference to each registered trade-mark, a summary of all documents deposited with the application or subsequently thereto and affecting the rights to the trade-mark. License agreements and documents terminating license agreements will be placed on the trade-mark file and the registers will be noted accordingly, upon receipt of the fee as provided for in Item 8 of the Tariff of Fees in Schedule 1 ($25.00) per mark.

Note: The Trade-marks Office takes no position with respect to the effect of the recordal of license agreements and documents terminating license agreements.
