The Honourable Sir Dominick Daly

Sir Dominick Daly was the twelfth Governor of Prince Edward Island since the creation of the Colony in 1763. Sir Dominick Daly was born in 1798 and died in Adelaide, South Australia, on 19 February 1868.

He was acting Chief Secretary in Canada for nearly twenty-six years and in 1851 was appointed Governor of the Island of Tobago.

In 1854, he was knighted and transferred to Prince Edward Island. On 11 July 1854 he was appointed Governor of Prince Edward Island and served until 1859. In 1861 he was appointed Governor of South Australia.
