Policy Research

In the late 1990's, Transport Canada co-led the work of the Transportation Climate Change Table. The Table was established as part of the national process to develop a climate change strategy. It directed several studies and provided policy recommendations in its Options Paper.

Transport Canada undertakes policy research on reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) related to the urban context, freight transportation, alternative fuels, and fuel efficiency. The department recently started investigating the impacts of changing climate on transportation infrastructure and operations.
