The Environmental Protection Branch maintains offices in New Brunswick,
Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island to integrate EPB and departmental
activities with those of provincial governments and other federal agencies.
These offices provide the lead for the Branch's provincial programs, and
provide support and assistance to the Corporate Affairs Branch regarding
departmental issues and concerns and are responsible for the delivery
of EPB programs which are pertinent to the provinces.

- Integration of Environmental Protection Programs
and Services with those of other Federal and
provincial departments and agencies
- Promotion of compliance and enforcement of
regulations under the Canadian Environmental
Protection Act and the Fisheries Act in harmony
with other Federal and Provincial Legislation
- Provision of leadership to other federal
government departments and agencies regarding
stewardship of the environment
- Promotion of pollution prevention to a wide
clientele
- Provision of strategic advice and information on
a wide variety of environmental issues and
situations
- Provision of information on environmental
emergencies and where possible coordinate federal
and provincial responses
- Provision of linkage between Environment Canada
and the Atlantic Coastal Action Plan (ACAP)
