Changes to the 2006/2007 Migratory Birds Regulations  for Labrador

Traditional December hunting season closing dates are still in effect for Labrador

For Ducks (other than Harlequin Ducks and eiders), Geese and Snipe – In the Northern, Western, and Central Zones of Labrador
The 2006 Hunting Season for these species in the Northern, Western, and Central Zones of Labrador will close on the second Saturday of December.  Therefore, the last day of this year’s season will be December 9, 2006.

For Ducks (other than Harlequin Ducks and eiders), Geese and Snipe– In the Southern Zone of Labrador
The 2006 Hunting Season for these species in the Southern Zone of Labrador will close on the third Saturday of December.  Therefore, the last day of this year’s season will be December 16, 2006.

Any changes referring to an extension of these dates in Labrador were made in error, and those changes only apply to hunting zones on the Island of Newfoundland.
