Towards a Biodiversity Science Agenda for Canada
In fall 2003, Ministers approved a draft biodiversity science agenda as a basis for priority setting and a proposed coordinating mechanism for biological information in Canada. They agreed at a future meeting to review early actions under the science agenda, a proposal for a biodiversity science advisory mechanism, and results of the initial implementation of the information coordination mechanism.
The draft agenda proposes thirty-five strategic directions under four components:
- Governance structure and process
- A science community with enhanced capacity and focus
- Research issues
- A biodiversity information network
