Aids to Navigation Protection Regulations

REGULATIONS RESPECTING THE PROTECTION OF AIDS TO NAVIGATION
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Aids to Navigation Protection Regulations.
2. In these Regulations,
"aids to navigation"
«aide à la navigation»
"aids to navigation" means a buoy, beacon, lighthouse, lightship or any other
structure or device installed, built or maintained for the purpose of assisting the
navigation of vessels.
3. (1) The person in charge of a vessel or tow that runs down, moves, damages or
destroys an aid to navigation shall report the fact as soon as is practicable to the
nearest Regional Director General or District Manager of the Canadian Coast Guard,
Department of Transport.
(2) Every person who fails to comply with subsection (1) is liable to a fine of $200.
