Synopsis and marine forecasts for the St Lawrence river from Cornwall 
to Anticosti and the Saguenay River issued by Environment Canada 
Montréal at 03:30 PM EST Saturday 9 December 2006 for this evening 
tonight and Sunday.
Next forecasts issued at 03:30 AM Sunday.

Synopsis at 11:00 AM EST Saturday and forecasts positions by Sunday 
08:00 PM EST.

A trough extending from north to south at the level of Lake Superior 
will move to lie from Anticosti toward the gulf of Maine Sunday 
evening. Ahead of the trough winds are southwest moderate to strong 
except gale force over the Lower Saint-Laurent. Behind the trough, 
winds are west moderate to strong except gale force over areas 
downstream of Pointe-des-Monts Sunday.


From Cornwall to Montréal.
Winds southwest 15 to 25 knots diminishing to 10 to 20 Sunday near 
midday. Cloudy with clear periods. Temperature steady near 2 during 
the night. High 4.

From Montréal to Trois-Rivières.
Winds southwest 15 to 25 knots becoming west 10 to 20 Sunday late in 
the afternoon. Cloudy. Temperature steady near zero during the night. 
High 4.

From Trois-Rivières to Donnacona.
Winds southwest 20 to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 25 Sunday morning 
then becoming west 10 to 20 Sunday evening. Fair visibilities in snow 
until late this evening. Temperature rising to 2 during the night. 
High 3.

From Donnacona to Île-aux-Coudres.
Winds southwest 15 to 25 knots increasing to 20 to 30 late this 
evening then becoming west 10 to 20 Sunday afternoon. Fair 
visibilities in snow until early Sunday morning. Temperature steady 
near minus 1 during the night. High plus 3.

From Île-aux-Coudres to Tadoussac.
Winds southwest 20 to 30 knots becoming northwest 10 to 20 Sunday 
evening. Visibilities becoming fair in snow early this evening until 
late this evening. Temperature steady near zero during the night. 
High 4.

From Chicoutimi to Tadoussac.
Winds southwest 15 knots or less becoming west 15 to 25 early Sunday 
morning. Fair visibilities in snow through Sunday afternoon. 
Temperature rising to 2 during the night. High 2.

From Tadoussac to Pointe-des-Monts.
Gale warning in effect...
Winds southwest 10 to 20 knots increasing to 25 to 35 tonight then 
becoming west 20 to 25 Sunday afternoon. Fair visibilities in snow 
until tonight. Temperature steady near 1 during the night. High 3.

From Pointe-des-Monts to Anticosti - northern half.
Gale warning in effect...
