The official history of the geographic name Alberton (which can
be somewhat technical, we admit):
Called after Prince Albert. The name was proposed by the Honorable Benjamin Roge rs of Cascumpec shortly after the commencement of the building of the Prince Edw ard Island Railway. (Herbert Clark, Assistant Postmaster, 1905).See also PN of PEI, 1925. Alberton (Town) was incorporated in 1913.Confirmed in Place Names of PEI, 1925 and 3 December 1946 on 21I/16.
