Celebrate National Wildlife Week

Spring is on its way – bringing warm breezes, birdsong and green shoots sprouting from the earth. As you make plans to enjoy the outdoors over the coming months, consider how fortunate we are to have so many beautiful natural spaces in Ontario.

We believe that it is critical to the future of Canada's wildlife to educate young people about wild plants and animals, and their roles in our environment, through schools, youth organizations, and community involvement. And adults will enjoy learning about wildlife and joining in at National Wildlife Week events, too!

Watersheds...More Than Just Water. Explore Yours!

This year's theme focuses on the importance of Canada's watersheds. We all live in a watershed - it is an area of land through which water flows towards a river, wetland, lake or even the ocean. Watersheds provide important habitat for wildlife. Learn more about the important functions of a watershed. Take some time and discover interesting facts out about the watershed you live in. Start by visiting the Canadian Wildlife Federation's National Wildlife Week * Web site for information about watersheds.
