Incumbents in the 2300 MHz and 3500 MHz Bands

The maps below were last updated on August 13, 2004 to reflect the spectrum holdings in anticipation of the first phase of the Two Phase Residual Licence Auction in the 2300 MHz and 3500 MHz Frequency bands.

2300 MHz WCS Band
All fixed point-to-multipoint system incumbents in the bands 2305-2320 MHz and 2345-2360 MHz licensed and installed in rural areas are protected from future WCS systems and are not subject to the transition policy.

A list of these incumbents can be found in Appendix 9 of the Policy and Licensing Procedures for the Auction of Spectrum Licences in the 2300 MHz and 3500 MHz Bands at http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/epic/internet/insmt-gst.nsf/vwGeneratedInterE/sf06438e.html.

3500 MHz FWA Band
Successful participants of the auction process will be required to coordinate with the incumbent FWA licensees. All FWA systems licensed and installed in rural areas have standard licences and may continue to operate and grow within their licensed spectrum block and service area.

A display of the FWA incumbents may be viewed by using an interactive mapping tool, SpectrumGeo located at http://www.spectrumgeo.ic.gc.ca.
