Notice No. SMSE-008-04 - Amendment 3 of RSS-210

Notice is hereby given that Industry Canada is amending Radio Standards Specification 210 (RSS-210), which sets out minimum requirements for the certification of low power transmitters and receivers.

The document is amended to permit the certification of Family Radio Service (FRS) devices that make use of the emission types F1D and F2D. Some editorial changes of a general nature are also included. Presently, the requirements for FRS devices are found in Section 6.2.2(L2.1) of RSS-210 Issue 5. For convenience, all the requirements of that section are presented in the amended version. Should there be disagreement between existing text of Section 6.2.2(L2.1) of RSS-210, Issue 5 and the amended version, the amended version shall take precedence. The amended version is:

General Information

The above document will come into force as of the date of publication of this notice.

The document has been coordinated with the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).

The Radio Equipment Technical Standards Lists will be amended to reflect the above change.
