Notice No. SMSE-002-04

Notice is hereby given that Industry Canada is releasing Radio Standards Specification 243 (RSS-243), which sets out minimum requirements for the certification of transmitters and receivers used in a radiocommunication system to provide medical implant communication in the 402-405 MHz band. This new RSS is entitled:

Radio Standards Specifications 243 (RSS-243), Issue 1, Active Medical Implant Communication System Devices in the 402-405 MHz Band.

The above document will come into force as of the date of publication of this notice.

This document has been coordinated with the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).

The Radio Equipment Technical Standards Lists will be amended to include the above document.

Interested parties should submit their comments within 90 days of the date of publication of this notice. All submissions should cite the Canada Gazette, Part I, the publication date, title, and notice reference number (SMSE-002-04).
