Notice No. SMSE-006-05

Amendment of Radio Standards Specification-133 (RSS-133)

Notice is hereby given that Industry Canada is amending Radio Standards Specification-133 (RSS-133), which sets out minimum requirements for the certification of transmitters and receivers in a radiocommunication system to provide Personal Communications Services (PCS) in the 1850-1910 MHz and 1930-1990 MHz bands.  

The RSS was amended in order to include technical requirements for the efficient utilization of the bands 1850-1910 MHz and 1930-1990 MHz to align with the frequency plan in Industry Canada’s Standard Radio System Plan-510 (SRSP-510), Issue 3, for PCS. Also, additional technical specifications were included to account for technology changes of PCS devices. Other changes comprise of general reformatting of the document and contact information updates. This revised RSS is:

General Information

The above document will come into force as of the date of publication of this notice.

This document has been coordinated with the Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC).

The Radio Equipment Technical Standards Lists will be amended to reflect the above change.

Interested parties should submit their comments within 90 days of the date of publication of this notice.
