NRC Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation

Research and Development Activities

NRC-IFCI's Research and Development program is aimed at advancing fuel cell science and technology and accelerating the commercialization of these technologies. The program is applied to four strategic areas that are important in advancing fuel cell science and technology and facilitating the commercialization of fuel cells:

To contribute to its fundamental and applied research projects, the Institute utilizes the following five core competencies as a foundation for our R&D effort:

NRC-IFCI also has two services that provide research support encompassing a diverse group of individuals whose primary function is to provide information, advice, and services to researchers. These groups include:

In addition to the above research areas, the Institute has a Mining Wear Materials Program, which aims to reduce the severe wear damage and related high costs and production losses that occur in mining and mineral processing.
