The Sustainable Buildings and Communities (SBC) group supports Canadian industry's efforts to develop and deploy renewable energy technologies that can serve as cost effective and environmentally responsible alternatives to conventional energy generation and consumption. Technologies include small hydro (less than 20 MW units), active solar, and wind energy. In addition, the group develops integrated energy solutions and collaborates on resource assessments.
We have adopted two strategic approaches within the program: the accelerated advancement of renewable energy technologies in the Canadian marketplace and the exploitation of international opportunities.
