Solid Planetology (Planetary Geology): Canadian
scientists are attempting to reconstruct the history of planets
through observations of the record left at the surface, as well as
through instruments designed to tell us more about what lies below
the surface. With Mars for example, our understanding of the geology
of the planet is intimately linked to our understanding of the
evolution of the atmosphere and water on the planet. Furthering our
knowledge in this area also provides insight into the processes that
take place on Earth.
