SADD Sept. 14, 2004

September 14, 2004
Cox, all members deserve our thanks
Letter to the Editor, The Guardian
Editor:
I want to say thank you to Gordie Cox and all the Prince Edward Island students and school staff who participate in the SADD (Students Against Drinking and Driving) program, from the past, present and into the future.

You are all doing a wonderful thing in trying to educate and prevent the youth of Prince Edward Island from driving while drinking, or being passengers in cars with persons who have been drinking.

I realize that you cannot prevent everyone from making the mistake of drinking and driving, but if you can stop one person from making this mistake, it is a blessing.

Gordie Cox wrote and directed a movie called Reflections, which tells the message and shows the problems which drinking and driving can cause to individuals and their families.

The movie will be released in the near future and is to be shown to high school students. It should have a very strong effect on persons who have been behind the wheel of a car when they have been drinking.

To all those students and staff who have worked and are working with the SADD program, and are trying to keep the roads safe from drinking and driving you all deserve a pat on the back.
