Marine forecasts for the Great Lakes and the Ontario portion of the 
st.  Lawrence river issued by Environment Canada Ontario region
At 3.00 AM EST Sunday 10 December 2006 for the period ending at
3.00 AM Monday with an outlook for the following 24 hours.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 10.30 AM today.

Note..The small craft warning program is active from May 01 to 
October 31.

Winds are for mid lake.  Wave heights are for offshore and are 
forecast from trough to crest.  Nearshore winds and waves may vary 
considerably due to shoreline effects.

Western Lake Superior.
Wind west 15 knots diminishing to north 10 early this morning then 
increasing to northeast 15 late this morning. Wind increasing to 20 
this afternoon then veering to east this evening. Fair. Waves 1 metre 
or less building to 1 to 2 this evening.
Outlook..Moderate to strong easterlies veering to strong 
southeasterlies.

Eastern Lake Superior.
Wind west 15 knots diminishing and veering to north 10 this morning 
then veering to east near noon. Wind increasing to 15 this afternoon. 
Fair. Waves 1 metre or less.
Outlook..Moderate to strong easterlies veering to strong 
southeasterlies.

Whitefish bay.
Wind southwest 15 knots diminishing to 10 this morning then backing 
to southeast this afternoon. Fair. Waves less than 1 metre.
Outlook..Light southeasterlies increasing to moderate.

Northern Lake Huron
Northern Georgian Bay.
Wind southwest 20 knots diminishing to 15 this morning. Fair then 
scattered showers developing this evening. Waves 1 to 2 metres 
lowering to 1 or less this afternoon.
Outlook..Moderate southwesterlies diminishing to light then backing 
and increasing to moderate southeasterlies.

Southern Lake Huron
Southern Georgian Bay.
Wind southwest 30 knots diminishing to 25 early this morning and to 
20 this afternoon. Fair then scattered showers developing this 
evening. Waves 2 to 3 metres lowering to 1 to 2 this morning.
Outlook..Strong southwesterlies diminishing to light then backing and 
increasing to moderate southerlies.

Lake St Clair.
Wind southwest 25 knots diminishing to 20 this afternoon and to 15 
after midnight. Chance of a shower this evening otherwise fair.
Waves near 1 metre lowering to less than 1 this evening.
Outlook..Moderate southwesterlies diminishing to light then backing 
to southerlies.

Western Lake Erie.
Wind southwest 25 knots diminishing to 20 this afternoon and to 15 
after midnight. Fair. Waves 2 to 3 metres lowering to 1 to 2 late 
this afternoon.
Outlook..Strong southwesterlies diminishing to light then backing to 
southerlies.

Eastern Lake Erie.
..Gale warning in effect..
Gales southwest 35 knots diminishing to southwest wind 30 this 
morning and to 25 this afternoon. Wind further diminishing to 20 
after midnight. Fair. Waves near 3 metres lowering to near 2 late 
this afternoon.
Outlook..Strong southwesterlies diminishing to light then backing to 
southerlies.

Lake Ontario.
..Gale warning in effect..
Gales west 35 knots diminishing to west wind 30 this morning and to 
25 this afternoon. Wind further diminishing to 20 after midnight. 
Fair. Waves 3 to 4 metres lowering to 2 to 3 late this afternoon and 
to 1 to 2 this evening.
Outlook..Strong westerlies diminishing to light and variable.

Kingston to Cornwall.
Wind southwest 20 knots diminishing to 15 near noon and to 10 this 
afternoon. Fair.
Outlook..Light southwesterlies becoming variable.

to west ridge average pressure 1028 MB through high.  990 MB low over 
northern Québec with trough average pressure 1002 MB extending 
southwest to 1005 MB low over South Dakota.
  By 3.00 PM Monday..Broad 1034 MB high over western North Carolina. 
Trough average pressure 1021 MB extending from southern Québec 
through Sault Ste Marie to western Lake Superior.  1031 MB high over 
Northern Ontario with east to west ridge average pressure 1024 MB 
through high.
