Funding Information

Under Phase II the Northern Ecosystem Initiative (NEI) adopted a more strategic investment process intended to deliver key results of importance to Environment Canada and its partners. Each of the Partner-Issue Tables, as well as the Northern Quebec Regional Steering Committee, developed strategic project investment objectives. Based on these objectives, NEI undertakes a directed solicitation of proposals for both short and long-term projects. Funding awarded to multi-year projects is subject to favourable progress being demonstrated annually.

This approach to project funding is balanced by an "Open-Door Policy" whereby NEI will consider new project concepts and partnership opportunities on an ongoing basis. Proposals that meet the strategic project funding objectives will be considered for future funding.
