Industry Canada recognizes the need for inter-agency communications
during certain emergency activities. Therefore, when the Department
published Spectrum Utilization Policy number 30-896, Part I (SP
30-896), Spectrum Allocation and Utilization in Certain Bands in the
Range 30.01-896 MHz in May 1990, it allocated the 821-824/866-869 MHz
sub-bands to facilitate inter-operability between agencies of this
sort.
