Twenty years of conservation co-operation

Over the past two decades, $1.2 billion has been raised under the plan to secure and enhance 2.3 million hectares of waterfowl habitat in Canada.

Satellite program aims to reduce marine pollution
A live, oiled bird from the Mystery Spill of Easter 2006 off the coast of Newfoundland.The Canadian Ice Service has taken a significant step forward in the battle against marine pollution by assuming operational responsibility of the Integrated Satellite Tracking of Pollution (ISTOP) program – a satellite surveillance program used to detect illegal discharges of oil in Canadian waters.

One of their most dangerous cases involved a rare type of extremely poisonous snake, found in a container of seeds transported from Israel.
