The role and objective of the Marine Security Program is to enhance marine transportation security across Canada and to help ports, marine facilities and vessels implement The International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code through the Marine Transportation Security Regulations (MTSRs). The Program also helps prevent unlawful acts of interference with the Canadian marine transportation system.

To that end, the overall Awareness & Outreach goal is:

to promote transportation security awareness and good security practices amongst marine community stakeholders/partners.
