The policy research study entitled "Natural Gas and Its impacts on Greenfield Areas" was conducted by Gardner Pinfold Consultings Economists Ltd on behalf of Petroleum Research Atlantic Canada.
In general, the main objective of this policy research is to promote a better understanding of the kinds of benefits and costs access to natural gas can generate, and how to go about measuring and describing these benefits and costs. The framework model takes the greenfield area results and develops them into an analytical approach that can be applied to other areas. The case studies illustrate how to go about this in a practical way.
This policy research is sponsored by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) under the Atlantic Policy Research Initiative, which provides a vehicle for the analysis of key socio-economic policy issues in Atlantic Canada. The views expressed in this study do not necessarily reflect the views of ACOA or of the Government of Canada.
