The rate of disabilities among Aboriginal people in Canada remains almost twice the national average. Young Aboriginal people experience disabilities at three times the national rate, and Aboriginal people suffer from diabetes at an incredible eight times the national average.

Aboriginal persons with disabilities can apply for any of the training opportunities offered under the AHRDS. In addition, $3 million per year has been set aside to increase access to training and employment opportunities for Aboriginal people with disabilities.
