DANGEROUS GOODS, CARGO TRANSPORT UNIT INSPECTIONS IN CANADA
SUMMARY OF DEFICIENCIES
For the Year 1997

A total of 399 inspections were recorded.
247 Units or (62%) had one or more deficiencies distributed as follows:

142 deficiencies Stowage/Securing were found (in 36% of inspections).
 

91 deficiencies Placarding and marking were found (in 23% of inspections).

 

60 deficiencies Documentation were found (in 15% of inspections).

 

31 deficiencies Labeling (of packages) were found (in 8% of inspections).

 

14 deficiencies Packaging (inappropriate or damaged) were found (in 4% of inspections).

 

9 deficiencies Container Safety Convention (CSC) Safety Approval Plate were found (in 2% of inspections).

 

8 deficiencies Other were found (in 2% of inspections).

 

1 deficiency Segregation of cargo was found (in <1% of inspections).
