When it comes to business, location is everything. Atlantic Canada is well situated for international trade and commerce with easy access to 410 million consumers. It's also within a day's drive of more than half of the entire North American population.

Atlantic Canada rests on Canada's east coast, bordering the province of Quebec, the New England states of the United States of America, and the Atlantic Ocean. The provinces that make up this unique region are New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.

From our ports, you can get to Europe two days faster by sea than from any U.S eastern seaboard port. The port of St. John's in Newfoundland is in a perfect position to service both European and North American markets.

Our airports offer dozens of daily flights to North American and European destinations, including the Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia, the Greater Moncton International Airport in New Brunswick, and the Gander and St. John's International Airports in Newfoundland and Labrador. There is also a well-developed air cargo-shipping infrastructure serviced by international players such as FedEx, Emery Worldwide, Purolator and Kuehne & Nagel.

The region's highway backbone is made up of a modern, four-lane highway system running from Halifax to New England, making road travel safer and more convenient. There have been more than $5.5 billion in new highway investments in the past five years - including the $1 billion Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island.
