Excellence Awards Program - Entrance Awards
The Excellence Awards Program - Entrance Awards provides entrance awards to prospective undergraduate students based on exceptional merit.

Eligibility Information
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- be Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- be enrolling in the first year of an undergraduate program in a Canadian post-secondary institution that is recognized by the provincial or territorial government
- have no prior post-secondary education
- demonstrate merit through academic achievement, community service, leadership, and interest in innovation
- continue to meet these criteria in order to renew an award
- other criteria may apply

Related Information
- There are three types of entrance awards: local awards (one-time awards for a year of study); provincial or territorial awards (renewable annually for up to four years); and national awards (renewable annually for up to four years).
- All awards are considered taxable income.
