Saskatchewan
Labour’s Occupational Health & Safety Division
(OH&S) strives to protect people's health and safety
at work. Its goal is to prevent and reduce the number of
accidents, injuries, illnesses and deaths on the job in
Saskatchewan.
OH&S staff:
- work with Occupational
Health Committees or Representatives and others to
ensure everyone in the workplace fulfills their
health and safety responsibilities
- help create and train
Occupational Health Committees
- enforce workplace
health & safety laws
- inspect workplaces for
health & safety hazards
- investigate workplace
accidents, hazards, concerns and complaints (e.g.,
harassment)
- provide health &
safety training, information and advice
- promote
worker-employer cooperation on health & safety
issues
- provide lab and
technical services on chemical, biological and
radiological hazards
- ensure hazardous
substances are properly labeled and managed
- provide health &
safety print, audio and visual resources
