The Ninth International Level Crossing Safety and Trespass Prevention Symposium will be held in Montreal, Quebec on September 10 to 14, 2006. The meeting is expected to draw more than 300 delegates representing railway companies, suppliers, manufacturers, government departments and agencies, research organizations and decision makers from around the world. Under the theme Partners in Safety, the symposium will offer the chance for experts to share their ideas on issues and technical developments related to grade crossing safety and human behaviour, suicide prevention, law enforcement, and public education. Transport Canada is playing a key role in organizing this event. TDCs Chief of Technology Applications Sesto Vespa is co-chair of the International Technical Program Committee and sits on the International/Canadian Organizing Committee.
