The Fourth Railway Ground Hazard Research Program Workshop was held in Kingston, Ontario on December 6 and 7, 2006. Participants were provided with updates on the progress of various research projects underway and given an opportunity to provide input into future directions for the program.

The RGHRP is a five-year, $2-million initiative developed by Transport Canada, Canadian railways, federal agencies, universities, and other stakeholders to develop risk management solutions to improve safety and reduce losses from landslides, avalanches, washouts and other ground hazard incidents on Canadian railways.

The first workshop was held in Edmonton on April 19, 2004. Workshops were also held in Kingston, Ontario on February 18, 2005, and Edmonton, Alberta on December 8, 2005. Proceedings from workshops are published on CD-ROM.
