The goals of the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Assoc. of PEI are:

  1. To enhance quality of life for the spina bifida child/person/family.
  2. Educate the public on spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
  3. Achieve growth and development within the Assosiation.
Scholarship Fund

We have a scholarship fund; achievement prizes are given out at the end of each school year, and a scholarship is given to those going on to secondary school.

Parents Support Group

We are a parent support group, and we endeavour to keep in touch with our members and assist whenever we can, whether it be through visits, over a coffee, or simply phone call. Also, we invite guests to our meetings to speak on topics of interest to our members, i.e. someone from the medical or teaching profession, etc. We also have a summer picnic and a Christmas party each year where fellowship is enjoyed by both children and adults. We meet the fourth Wednesday of every month with the exception of Christmas and Summer months. We meet alternatively in Charlottetown Beach Grove Nursing Home 7:30 p.m. and Summerside Wedgewood Manor 7:30p.m. Meeting is open to everyone with an interest.
