Workplace Safety Program

What is the Workplace Safety Program?

The Workplace Safety Program is designed to increase awareness about what family violence is, what each of us can do, and where to go for help.

Violence intrudes on the workplace in a number of ways. Violence can occur at work in the form of abuse or sexual harassment by co-workers, bosses, supervisors, clients or customers. Violence within the home can also affect the workplace. At work, there is absenteeism, loss of concentration, fatigue, emotional instability and reliance on medications and alcohol, all of which contribute to decreased productivity.

The information packages have been distributed to all workplaces across Prince Edward Island. For additional packages please contact Island Information Service at 368-4000 or island@gov.pe.ca, 11 Kent Street (Jones Building), Charlottetown.

You can also view the Best Practices for Workplace Promotion of Violence Prevention online in English and French as PDF documents. The English and French brochures are also available online.

The following images are stickers that will be placed in women's washrooms throughout the Island.
