School Health Where can I find information about school health?Goals:
- The best possible health for school aged children
- Public Health Nurses are concerned with promoting the health of students, preventing illness and the early finding of problems
- School immunizations for Hepatitis B(a series of three immunizations in grade 3), booster doses of Diphtheria and Tetanus in grade 9
- Vision and hearing checks for students
- Public Health Nurses also assist teachers with the Health and Family Life Education classes in grades 5/6 and grade 9
- Public Health Nurses are a resource to teachers and school staff about serious and life-threatening allergies and the use of epi-pens
- Public Health Nurses may also be members of school health teams
