Literacy for Pregnant and Parenting Youth Program (LiPPY)

Where can I find information about the LiPPY Program?

It is well documented across North America that an alarmingly high percentage of young women are giving birth to children early in life. The LiPPY Vision is to improve literacy levels for parents aged 14-24, thereby increasing opportunities for higher education, employability, and greater economic potential, as well as optimal health including emotional and physical well being.

The LiPPY Mission is to identify/remove existing barriers preventing young parents from achieving higher literacy skills along with furthering their access to supports appropriate to meet their needs. LiPPY aims to determine the population of pregnant and parenting youth, prepare measurement tools and identify the barriers described by measuring awareness of the level of available resources and confidence.
