Early Childhood Development Association of PEI The ECDA of PEI strives to meet the needs of young children. Formed in 1974 by a group of pre-school teachers, it is a non-profit organization committed to
promoting the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of young children. The ECDA promotes the adherence to professional guidelines of early childhood educators and increases their skills through information sharing, workshops, and other educational opportunities.
ECDA CHAPTERS
The four chapters of the ECDA are located in Kings
County, Queens County, East Prince County and West
Prince County. The chairperson from each chapter makes
up part of the provincial Board of Directors.
MEMBERSHIP
The ECDA depends on its volunteer members, whose
numbers have grown steadily across the province.
Membership is open to any person involved or interested in early childhood development on PEI. They include owners and operators of licensed early childhood facilities, professionals working in related fields, teachers and parents. Both centre and individual memberships are available with benefits to each.
