Youth Employment Program To give youth (18 - 24 years of age) in the region an opportunity to gain some experience in the work-force along with taking self-help/upgrading courses in a classroom or on the job setting. Basic life skills, self-help skills, to boost their self-confidence and self-esteem. How to use the skills they already have to get into the work-force. How to look and apply for a job. Inform them of the opportunities to upgrade their education or gain work experience. Career decision making information, training programs available and resume tips. Most of these young people are products of economic poverty, broken and/or abusive homes, drug/alcohol abuse with little or no education or work skills. Most are on some form of social assistance.
