The purpose of this report is to examine macro economic trends as they relate to key economic sectors in the rural Nova Scotia economy. Key macro trends such as interest and exchange rates, regulatory factors, sector performance, and population changes have been examined based on the recent past and where possible projected into the future. Many of these trends serve as the economic drivers of the sectors and help to explain past performance and expected future performance.
