- EcoAction
This funding program provides financial support to community
groups for action-oriented projects that have measurable,
positive impacts on the environment. Led
by Environment Canada.
- Ecological
Gifts Program
Private and corporate landowners who donate ecologically
sensitive lands, or interests in such lands, can receive
significant tax benefits through Environment Canada's Ecological
Gifts Program, also known as ecogifts. Led
by Environment Canada.
- Environmental
Farm Plan *
Environmental Farm Plans (EFP) are documents voluntarily
prepared by farm families to increase their awareness of
the environment on their farm. Led by Agriculture
and Agri-Food Canada and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture
and Food.
- Great
Lakes Wetlands Conservation Action Plan
This program brings together government and non-government
partners in an effort to conserve and rehabilitate remaining
wetlands, complementing the goals and objectives of the
Federal Wetlands Policy (1991) and the Ontario Wetlands
Policy Statement (1992). Led by Environment
Canada, the Province of Ontario, Ducks Unlimited Canada,
Federation of Ontario Naturalists, and Nature Conservancy
of Canada.
- Habitat
Stewardship Program for Species at Risk
The program supports projects that contribute to species
recovery as identified in recovery strategies or recovery
action plans. Activities may include habitat improvement,
habitat restoration, outreach and communication, and land
securement. Led by Environment Canada, Department
of Fisheries and Oceans, and Parks Canada Agency.
- North
American Wetlands Conservation Council Canada (WetNet)
*
Established in 1990 by the federal Minister of the Environment
to provide national leadership for the North American Waterfowl
Management Plan, and to take a leadership role in wetlands
policy and awareness. In 2000, the Wetlands Council expanded
its mandate and membership, becoming the NABCI Canada Council
and taking on the additional role of coordinating the North
American Bird Conservation Initiative in Canada. Led
by Environment Canada.
- Remedial
Action Plans for Great Lakes Areas of Concern
Remedial Action Plans (RAPs) are important scientific endeavours
that are a part of many Great Lakes communities, guiding
the restoration and protection efforts for Areas of Concern,
locations that have experienced environmental degradation.

- Stewardship
Canada *
An Internet portal and knowledge management tool for stewardship
information in Canada, featuring a national portal with
regional hubs. Led by Environment Canada.
