Interest-Free Island Student Loan program

A zero percent interest rate on the Provincial Student Loan program began October 1, 2012. The program applies to PEI student loans issued after January 1, 2001 and held by the PEI Student Financial Assistance Corporation. Read the news release / Watch the video

ATTENTION RETURNING PROVINCIAL LOAN BORROWERS:

If you have received a previous provincial student loan disbursement, please ensure you have your school send a Confirmation of Enrollment to Edulinx-PEI.  This must be done in order to ensure you remain in non-repayment status.  For further information please contact Edulinx-PEI at 1-877-560-1389.  Click here for a printable copy of the COE.

Have You Submitted Your MSFAA Yet?


For the 2013-14 school year the procedure to obtain the federal portion of your student loan has changed.  When you are notified via email that your Assessment has been completed you will be required to fill out and submit the MSFAA according to the directions available via CanLearn.ca website.  You must properly submit this form in order to receive your Canada Student Loan.  For full instructions click here and for a list of designated Canada Post Outlets click here.


Pre-Study Report

Don't forget to submit your pre-study report in order to obtain your provincial loan, should you be eligible.  They can be submitted as early as your first day of school.  University and College students need to submit completed pre-study reports to our office by December 1, 2013 in order to guarantee January disbursement.

Important Deadline Dates

  • November 25, 2013 was the deadline for full year funding.  All applications received after this date will be assessed for second semester funding only.
  • March 7, 2014 for second semester financial assistance.  Any application received after this deadline will not be considered.  The same deadline applies and are not extended for Pre-Study Report forms and Appeal forms.


Processing can take up to 6 weeks from the time we receive your completed application and supporting documentation. Deadline dates are strictly enforced. No exceptions
