First Nations and Youth Employment Strategy

What is the First Nations and Youth Employment Strategy?

This is one of four programs administerd by Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (NAC) under the First Nations and Inuit Youth Employment Strategy (FNIYES).

Objectives:

  • Support the provision of opportunities for mentored work experience;

  • Support the development and enhancement of essential employability skills, such as communication, problem solving, and working with others;

  • Expose youth to a variety of career options; Promote the benefits of education as being key to labour market participation.

  • Promote the benefits of education as being key to labour market participation.
