Special Needs
You can search for accommodations with barrier free and partial accessibility by using the "Features" tab in our online Visitors Guide Accommodations Search. You may wish to contact the establishment to ensure that it meets your specific needs.

Access Canada

Access Canada is a four-level standard used by roofed accommodation operators to meet the needs of mature travellers and people with disabilities. The program is voluntary.

Provincial Campgrounds & Parks

Provincial camping areas with washrooms accessible by wheelchair are located at Red Point, Cabot Park, Mill River, Lord Selkirk and Northumberland. Provincial day use parks with accessible washrooms are located at Pooles Corner, Souris Beach, Chelton Beach and Pinette Park.

Designated Parking

If you have a designated parking permit from your province or state, please display it prominently in your vehicle.

Like loading zones or fire lanes, designated parking spaces are reserved for a specific purpose. Please do not use a designated parking space reserved for people with mobility impairments.

Personal Care Assistance

People travelling to PEI who require nursing care or assistance with personal care can contact We Care Home Health Services. Care is provided by a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Personal Care Worker, depending on need. Staff are licensed, bonded and insured. You can call toll free 1-800-897-9649 or (902) 894-3025.
