SCHEDULE V

SPECIAL HARVESTING AREA
(BARREN-GROUND CARIBOU)

Pursuant to 12.4.4(a), the following special harvesting area for the harvesting of barrenground caribou is created. Persons who are not participants may harvest barren-ground caribou, in accordance with legislation, during the open season as defined by legislation, until the 25th day of December in any calendar year, in the following area, namely:


SPECIAL HARVESTING AREA: #1

In the Northwest Territories;
in the District of Mackenzie;

All that parcel of land more particularly described as follows, all topographic features hereinafter referred to being according to:

edition 2 of the Boomerang Lake map sheet number 106 M/4 of the National Topographic System, produced at a scale of 1:50,000 by the Surveys and Mapping Branch, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, at Ottawa;

edition 2 of the Mount Sittichinli map sheet number 116 P/1 of the National Topographic System, produced at a scale of 1:50,000 by the Surveys and Mapping Branch, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources, at Ottawa;

Commencing at the point of intersection of the north limit of the right of way of the Dempster Highway with the west bank of an unnamed stream at approximate latitude 67°09'03"N and approximate longitude 135°55'17"W;

thence westerly along said limit of the right of way of the Dempster Highway to its intersection with the Yukon Territory/Northwest Territories boundary at approximate latitude 67°03'02"N and approximate longitude 136°12'08"W;

thence northerly along said boundary to its intersection with latitude 67°12'30"N at approximate longitude 136°10'17"W;

thence southeasterly in a straight line to the point of commencement.
