Hyperlinking & Crawling Policy
|
This policy is meant to provide:
-
the reasons for inclusion of content, specifically links that appear on this
Web site; and
-
the appropriate linking and crawling practices with respect to this site.
The on-line world is evolving and details of this policy may accordingly change
over time. Implementation of these changes may therefore lead to the removal of
content and hyperlinks from this site or to the termination of crawling,
without notice. |
1. Hyperlinking |
Links to this site will be allowed subject to the following criteria:
-
the pages on this site will not be loaded into frames on other sites; entire
pages will load into the users' window so that users know they are viewing
content from this site;
-
content from this site will be used "as is" and no fees will be charged for
access to it; and
-
no logos, trademarks or other Government of Canada's marks will be used in the
link you post without the Government of Canada's permission.
Decisions to post links on this site will be subject to the following criteria:
-
content of sites to be linked must be relevant to the purpose and objectives of
this site;
-
content of sites to be linked must be current, accurate and add significant
value to this site's content;
-
content of sites to be linked must be in compliance with the laws of Canada,
including all relevant privacy, human rights and labour legislation;
-
content of sites to be linked must not be offensive, lewd or malicious; and
-
sites to be linked must allow users to navigate back to the present site; they
cannot block the user's return to this site by imbedding code within the linked
page that will prevent the use of the browser "back" button.
-
content of sites targeted to specific audiences must be appropriate to the
needs and expectations of that audience.
Also note that:
-
preference will be given to links made to sites whose content is in both
official languages; however, links may be established to unilingual sites that
add significant value not found on existing bilingual sites;
-
preference will also be given to those sites that provide uninterrupted, free
access to users;
-
posting of links may be refused or following periodic review, terminated
without notice, for failure to comply with these criteria or for any other
appropriate reason including:
-
site navigation problems;
-
frequent client complaints; or
-
lack of resources to maintain and monitor content;
-
links are provided for convenience purposes only and are not an endorsement or
rating of the content of sites to which they are made;
-
links may not work as we do not control the availability of linked pages;
-
Job Ads on this site must be in Canadian locations, with the exception of
International jobs posted by Government of Canada and provincial and
territorial government organizations; and
-
job ads on the site must not be taken from a third party's site and must be
from Canadian employers.
|
2. Crawling |
Crawling of this site is allowed subject to the following criteria:
-
job ads retrieved from this site will be used for job placement purposes only;

prominent notice will be given that the content is freely available at this
site; and
-
no logos, trademarks or other Government of Canada's marks should be used on
other sites without the Government of Canada's permission.
Crawling of this site may be blocked if it fails to comply with the above
criteria. Crawling may also be blocked if it inhibits this site's performance
or for any other appropriate purpose. The Government of Canada is not
responsible for any loss or damage incurred as a result of crawling this site.
