The Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) Branch of Industry Canada regularly publishes data at the national level. This report focuses on the regional ICT perspective. The report focuses on the year 2003. When data for this year were unavailable, the most recent available data were used. For more timely national data, please refer to the Canadian ICT Statistical Overview (http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/ictso).

The regional data reported here do not correspond exactly to the national data published in the Canadian ICT Statistical Overview. The discrepancies arise due to data limitations. Commercial and Services Machinery Manufacturing (NAICS 33331) and Communication Wire and Cable Manufacturing (NAICS 33952) were not available for some regions. More significantly, no regional data for ICT Wholesaling, Rental and Leasing is available, nor is information available for Wireless Broadcasting Distribution or Internet Service Providers at the regional level.

Also note that The Territories are included with Atlantic Canada for all variables except ICT R&D;, where The Territories are included with British Columbia.
