Regional Environmental Emergencies Team

Welcome to the Regional Environmental Emergencies Team (REET) web site for Ontario Region. REET is a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary group, co-chaired by Environment Canada and the Province of Ontario's Ministry of the Environment.

A Regional Environmental Emergencies Team is designed to provide consolidated and coordinated environmental advice, information and assistance in the event of an environmental emergency. REET members represent several federal, provincial and municipal government departments, aboriginal communities, private sector agencies, and local individuals. To assist in emergency planning and preparation, the Province of Ontario has been divided into Areas. For each of these Areas a REET has been developed consisting of local and regional representatives.

Browse the site for emergency information, contacts and links for REET members, information on upcoming meetings of the REET, archives of past meeting minutes and general REET information. In addition, each REET area features a bulletin board for posting messages. It is through working together that our level of preparedness for, and response to environmental emergencies in Ontario is enhanced.
