Celebrating Great Lakes Science
To put together an effective Hamilton Harbour Remediation Action Plan to improve water quality, it was essential that the science of the Bay Area ecosystems be understood and communicated. Murray Charlton of Environment Canada's National Water Research Institute was part of the team that gathered together the knowledge to make the Plan work. He was recently recognized by theBay Area Restoration Council for his exceptional contribution to the Action Plan and to the community's understanding of water quality issues. Murray's citation included recognition for his advice on water quality and his skill in interpreting science in a down-to earth style, as well as his interest in harbour-related recreation.
