Environmental Stewardship |
Great Lakes Sustainability Fund |
Overview: Aims to significantly accelerate work to restore the environmental quality of Canada's remaining 16 Areas of Concern (AOCs).
Eligibility: Federal departments, provincial ministries, municipalities, conservation authorities, local Remedial Action Plan (RAP) implementation committees, organizations, non-profit and non-government groups. Projects must directly address the restoration of Canadian AOCs to be considered for funding. |

EcoAction |
Overview:EcoAction is an Environment Canada program, providing financial support to community groups for action-oriented projects that have measurable, positive impacts on the environment.
Eligibility: Non-profit groups, these may include environmental or aboriginal groups, First Nations councils, or youth groups. |

Regional Green Source Funding Guide |
Overview:This funding guide is one of the many resources produced by Environment Canada's EcoAction funding program to help Canadian communities take action on environmental issues. There are numerous sources of funding and resources for environmental projects available, but finding them can be time consuming and frustrating. This guide is designed to facilitate this process.

Endangered Species Recovery Fund |
Overview: Sponsors high-priority conservation projects to assist the recovery and protection of endangered Canadian wildlife and their natural habitats.
Eligibility: Colleges, universities, registered charities, registered non-profit organizations and for-profit organizations. Agencies of a provincial or federal government are not eligible for funding. |

Habitat Stewardship Program (for species at risk) |
Overview:To help Canadians provide habitat for species at risk, and other species using those ecosystems.
Eligibility: Any organization, business, community, individual, or non-federal government agency. |

Wetland Habitat Fund |
Overview: Financial assistance is available to private landowners who lead projects that improve the ecological integrity of wetland habitats.
Eligibility: Any organization with projects that contribute to the improvement or restoration of local wildlife habitat. |

Climate Change Action Fund |
Overview:Funding is available for the development of a national implementation strategy on climate change and for projects that meet Canada's commitments under the Kyoto Protocol.
Eligibility: Governments, businesses, communities and individual Canadians. |

Overview: Financial help is available for individuals and organizations wanting to participate in the environmental assessment process of a project under review by a panel or a mediator.

Evergreen Foundation |
Evergreen can help support your fundraising efforts both by tracking funding agencies that support naturalization projects and by providing grants ourselves as monies become available to do so. Since 1993, Evergreen has provided funding to over 620 schools and community groups in Canada.

Green Municipal Enabling Fund |
Overview: Funding is available for environmental initiatives that explore new technologies and best practices for energy, building, water, waste and transportation projects.
Eligibility: Canadian municipalities and their public-sector or private-sector partners. |

Green Municipal Investment Fund |
Overview: Financial assistance is available for municipal governments that invest in new technological approaches to improve and protect the environment.
Eligibility: Canadian municipalities and their public-sector or private-sector partners. |

Public-Private Partnerships for the Urban Environment: Innovative Partnerships Grant |
Overview: Funds are available to improve access to basic urban services such as water and sanitation, sustainable energy services, solid waste management and central municipal services for the less fortunate.
Eligibility: National and local governments, civil society organizations and private sector associations. |

Eligibility: Students who are interested in taking environmental studies abroad. |

Overview: Aims to help post-secondary graduates obtain practical work experience in the environmental field.
Eligibility: Post-secondary graduates. |

International Environmental Youth Corps |
Overview: Aims to create employment opportunities and provide work for Canadian university and college graduates through international internships.
Eligibility: Canadian university and college graduates. |

Environmental Youth Corps |
Overview:This corperation provides a window-of-opportunity for post-secondary graduates under the age of 30 seeking to gain experience in either a national or international environmental project.

Young Canadian Leaders for a Sustainable Future |
Overview: A funding program designed to promote youth participation in sustainable development initiatives.
Eligibility: Youth between 19-30. |
