Apprenticeship and Labour Mobility Initiatives

Under the Apprenticeship and Labour Mobility Initiatives, the Government of Canada, the provincial and territorial governments, training institutions, educators, business, labour and equity groups are working together to promote skilled trades and apprenticeship and to improve labour mobility in Canada. The ultimate objective is to find solutions to ensure adequate supply of skilled trade workers and to allow qualified, skilled Canadian workers to practice their respective trades anywhere in Canada. The success of these initiatives will result in consumers, employers, provincial certification boards and the public in general having confidence that a worker trained and certified anywhere in Canada is fully competent to do the job.

This initiative is managed by the Human Resources Partnerships Directorate. Find out more about the Human Resources Partnerships Directorate and related Programs and Services.
