Description:
This resource kit for retailers is composed of a printed guidance manual and a CD-Rom, both accessible online. The kit provides a simple step-by-step approach to successfully implement sustainability strategies in shops which will lead to cost-savings and new business opportunities. The manual focuses on: the impact and role of the retail sector on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) patterns; the methodology to implement cleaner production schemes in shops; key tips for working with suppliers to green the supply chain; and guidelines to develop awareness campaigns on sustainability issues to customers. The CD-Rom contains: numerous retail case studies from all continents which illustrate in practice how retail companies have successfully incorporated sustainability practices in their daily operations; training material on the implementation of SCP in retail shops; documents and manuals which supplement the topics discussed in the guidance manual; and web links for further reading.
